Sakurada, a city in California, USA.
It's a peaceful town blessed with a sunny West Coast climate, but in recent years it has been plagued by the spread of a highly addictive drug known as "Ripcord."
In order to crack down on such crimes, the Sakurada Police have formed a new organization.
The special investigation unit, which brings together members with free-thinking ideas and skills from different fields, is called "Sidekicks."
The group consists of Chika, who has exceptional athletic ability; Hibari, a smooth-talking psychological profiler; Shishiba, a silent genius hacker; Riko, who is skilled at instantaneous memory; and Tatewaki, the leader who unites the four of them.
The Special Investigations Unit was beginning to attract attention in the city with its unconventional investigative methods.
One day, the protagonist, Inori, is scouted to be a new member of Sidekicks.
She had a special ability that was unique to her...a tendency to have strange precognitive dreams.

This is a crime suspense story set in a fictional American city. The protagonist joins a special police investigation team. While facing various problems occurring in the city, he will develop bonds with his teammates. The story develops from common episodes to individual character stories. This work is a universe work that shares the same worldview as the text adventure game "BUSTAFELLOWS," which has sold over 150,000 copies worldwide. "Side Kicks! Beyond" also includes a crossover episode featuring characters from "BUSTAFELLOWS." Teuta and his friends move from the east coast town of "New Sieg" to the west coast town of "Sagrada" and develop friendly relationships with the Side Kicks members, but then get caught up in an incident and find themselves in a relationship between "police" and "suspect"...!?
