Heaven Burns Red is a mobile RPG developed by WFS and Key, a brand under the Japanese game developer Visual Arts. The story and the script are created by Jun Maeda, whose notable works include "Air", "Clannad", "Little Busters", etc.
The game was announced in 2019 and originally scheduled to release in 2020. However, it was delayed to 2021 as it claimed to need more time for the development to make the utmost RPG experience. The leading voice actors for the characters are Kusunoki Tomori and Maekawa Ryoko.
In the story of Heaven Burns Red, the Earth is being attacked by mysterious creatures named 'Cancer', which causes a disastrous loss of human territories. The survived human beings have invented a weapon called 'Seraph', which is the only effective way to damage Cancer. Hence, mankind has established the Seraph force. People that can control the power of Seraph are all teenage girls with special talents.
Heaven Burns Red is a turn-based RPG with a horizontal map design. Players can control characters of unique design and class to explore the game. A team of six members can be built to meet the requirement of the stage and optimize the strategy. In the battle, only three of the six members of the team will be called upon, with the other three as substitutes. In addition, players can explore the school life of teenage girls in an RPG-style exploration system, which includes dialogues and interaction among the characters in school.
