For context: I came into this game not knowing anything about Hypnosis Mic other than "it exists" and "Ramuda is pink Ouma". I downloaded it because I have 2 friends who are obsessed with the franchise and knew I like rhythm games, so they told me to try it.

The game downloaded pretty fast, which surprised me as someone who is used to the insanely long downloads of other games of this nature, and then I realized the reason when the game finally loaded: it was close to empty.

The songs:
The songs are great, really made me interested in getting into HypMic, and I wouldn't have any complaints had it not been for the fact that there are only like 7 songs, some of which haven't even released all of their parts at launch. Speaking of the parts mechanic, I like it a lot. it basically allows you to pick your favourite part in a song and loop that if you want, and it also allows for more maps to FC/AP, despite the amount of songs being limited. Still, can't wait for more songs to be added.

The gameplay:
I've played rhythm games with varying controls, from near perfect like Bandori and Enstars Music (aka anything that rips off LLSIF controls), to painfully bad like Idolish7, and even some with unique gameplay like Voez and Lost in Harmony. I have to say: the gameplay is the best part of this game. It takes the half circle shape of LLSIF but makes the interface nicer to look at, making it look like a disk at a DJ stand, and there's also the scratcher which makes a scratch noise while also moving said disk, which makes the gameplay more fun. It's also the first game of this kind where I didn't immediately look for ways to turn off the video and character pop-ups right away, because those weren't as distracting to me as they are in Bandori for example. In the end, it makes for aesthetic gameplay that is fun to play and to look at.

The UI:
Who designed this? I wanna know. I wanna have a word with that person. Why is it so ugly? Why is it that the event shop is in the regular shop section, and you can't go back to the event page? Why is the same happening with event missions? The waiting time between each tap is forever, so it feels like a chore to even get back to the song section if you left it.

Other:
It takes too much grinding to get SSRs in events, if you want me to get the card you should make it at a reasonable amount. No I'm not salty about not getting mage Saburo (okay I really am, that card is too cute and Saburo is the only Yamada I don't have in SSR).
One last nitpick I have with both this game and a few others: Why is it so difficult to let the stuff you get from regular missions go directly to your inventory, rather than forcing you to go to the main screen and then the mailbox? Can't I just get my crystals and go?

Do yeah, neat gameplay and songs, just a little too small and the package is too ugly.
