Well, with that out of the way, this is by no mean a free to play friendly game, even if you are, you have to endure a grueling amount of grinding that would take up to weeks for specific stuff such as evolving a pri-arm weapon or trying to get the G4 stigmatas.
As a long time player, and a level 88 captain, it's really hard for me to recommend this game since with the arrival of many updates, it can be quite overwhelming. From what I can see, the meta is practically whatever new characters that comes up on the event banner, every Valkyries that were moved to the dorm banner are either very old characters or characters that had fallen out of the meta!
I've spent money on this game to alleviate the grinding but it's quite predatory if you were to aim to clear any challenging content, because natural S-rank valkyries then and now would need a lot of fragments and ascend their rank to be good, which means more money to spend, not only that, specialised weapons and stigmatas are also essential to specified characters which are all!
Meta Valkyries are very much so important, as it defines your whole account and catching up to new characters is very tiring as a whole, I think it's a very counterintuitive move, because gacha games are all about playing the characters you want, like I really liked White Comet's playstyle but I can't use her in new contents.
All in all, if it weren't for the character writing and development, I would've done quitted this game long ago.
