Project Sekai Colorful Stage Feat. Hatsune Miku | Japanese Review(s)
4.2

Pros :
+ One of the best JP rhythm game right now. So, it have a lot of active players in game.
+ Full of vocaloid songs.
+ Have 6 vocaloid characters and male characters.
+ Simple controls.
+ Simple UI and not stressful for eyes and brain.
+ Several QoL features, imo the most important is changing the amount of live bonus (stamina) consumption per run or song, it can be set to 2 or 3 for optimal rewards or 5~10 for faster run.
+ Have different size of notes (especially big notes) as unique mechanic, so higher difficulty charts are challenging for player.
+ Fun (or pain) notes based by song lyrics.
+ Beautiful card artstyle which difficult to describe.
+ Less fanservice, eh wait...
![[大哭]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
+ Very care for story NPC (like it have an unique art), tho i'm not a story reader.
+ Original project sekai characters are likeable and have good vocals or covers.
+ Popular voice actor or seiyuu, mostly come from rhythm, music, or idol series.
+ Keep releasing new songs, so that's including introducing some new vocaloid song producer and no more hibernation for the popular one.
+ All of 5 groups have a lot of good songs, especially Vivid Bad Squad and 25ji.
+ Feature to change song vocals. Including another vocal version, so some song have a bit change of lyrics and feeling/atmosphere.
+ Have some feature which can't be found in other gacha rhythm games. Even, some feature is basically for players who likes to simp or oshi
![[怪笑]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
Cons :
- Minimum requirements are high.
- The game size is too big, especially if download with some mv.
- 3d mv lag on some device.
- Lack of game settings.
- Hard to get limited ssr card you wants, except being a lucksack or whale.
- More grinding and farming if the game get a comparison with other gacha rhythm games out there (this is optional tho).
- Device dependency, than any other mobile rhythm games out there. Because it's somewhat harder to execute flick, slide, big notes, and notes timing/accuracy especially on high difficulty charts (start from diff 28+) without proper device.
- Design of most master (highest difficulty) charts are annoying imo, thanks to their bad habit (from overchart, difficulty spike, thin slides, sightread or difficult pattern, etc.). Not good for replayability after getting full combo or all perfect.
- Too much releasing master song with difficulty 30+. Also, multifinger charts for diff 33+ added into the game, so kek, rip dev statement about "all songs are made to be full comboable with 2 fingers".
- Recent charts are getting harder and harder.
- Most charts difficulty rating are not suitable.
- Quick summary, Proseka charts are designed more for satisfying pro rhythm players.
- Matchmaking in multiplayer mode is sometimes full of bugs.
- Playing master difficulty on multiplayer is less scoring and rewarding, especially if the player or device is suck at accuracy and combos. Even, majority of player in this game is picking to play hard or expert difficulty instead.
-----
TL;DR Project Sekai is very aesthetically pleasing, fun, and challenging rhythm game. Also, it have a lot of vocaloid baits, make it very worth to play

![[鬼臉]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)

For being one of the first mobile games featuring the Piapro characters that I've ever played, it's actually really good. It introduces a few new human characters that are all interesting.
Pros:
Gameplay is similar to Garupa's, so if you played it you have an advantage. One difference is the notes, you can't really change the size of the notes in Sekai, and the notes vary, they can take up the enitre lane or be really tiny. Another is the character ranks. By reading area convos and playing, you can increase character ranks as well.
The game has five difficulties, Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert, and Master. The game can be played by casuals and hardcore players. So don't worry too much about game difficulty.
Song list is actually very diverse, and include popular producers and some who are not as known. Mikito-P, MitchieM, KZ, Kemu, Mafumafu, Junky-P, Nero, and other producers have songs that are featured in the game. They also were nice enough to include songs from other Virtual Singers
The characters are all really interesting and the voice actors are really talented. The covers are great, and I actually enjoy playing with some of them. Not to mention they're all really unique, so I'm sure you'll find a character you'll like.
There seems to be constant events in the game, just like Garupa. So there will always be something new to grind for, if you're into that.
The graphics are great, as excepted from Colorful Palette. The characters look so pretty, especially my husband Kaito. The chibis are also really cute.
Gachas are a bit more expensive, than Garupa. But they make up for it by being very generous. Reading convos and increasing character ranks are very rewarding.
Cons:
Grinding in this game is hellish. Training/practicing characters is a difficult grind to do. I don't mind it, because I have little 3★ and 4★ (not because of gacha rates).
Ranking in this game is also very difficult. There are about 20 million people playing this game, so obviously ranking is going to be tough. Rewards for ranking are decent, top tens usually get enough crystals to do one pull.
The tunning for the Virtual Singers can be very choppy. I'm sure they tried, but it sound super off sometimes. The cover for Fragile using Len and Kaito sounds weird. And Meiko sounds too soft in Hibana. It sounds good in other cases though, like Kaito in Dappou Rock. It could be tuned that way for the human singers, but it's not fitting sometimes.

If you are looking for a rhythm game that involves tapping a screen, and has vocaloid covers/music, you are in the right place.
This game has a very good rhythm game inside of it, with tapping that usually registers and with challenging charts as you move up the difficulty. The difficulty does spike I think between hard -> expert but it is just a matter of moving up levels slowly (or brute forcing it like my sister did, but I digress). The rhythm game is a very nice experience on both mobile and tablet, but I believe a tablet is better for the harder difficulty, however you should take that with a grain of salt as that is just my opinion! Playing on a wide phone is not a pleasant experience for me, since I have small hands, but playing on a phone is not a bad experience or anything, I believe the game does work quite well.
The characters in this game are very well-written in my opinion, even the characters you may grow to not like. I personally don't really like Mafuyu as a person but her struggles and her character, for what it is, is well-written. The 5 groups in this game all have their each seperate story with 20 episodes in it, which you unlock by playing songs with cards of the characters in their respective groups, or by reading area conversations in the overworld. The episodes are not very long and give a good introduction of each group and character individually, with the event stories then developing each character with their respective struggles and dynamics with other characters. There have been many events so it is quite hard at this stage to read all of them, I would recommend to read the main story of the group you like the look of the most, and get to know those characters. If any of them appeal to you, then you can read the event stories surrounding that character. There are also side stories for each card which can be unlocked using in game items, so if you are interested in a certain character, these side stories are a good way to know them better.
The gacha system is also alright, it is easy to tell whether you have a 3* or 4* based on colour, 3* means yellow and 4* means purple. The indication of a "flip" is also shown clearly, with the floor that Miku steps on turning into a purple circle instead of rainbow or the floor becoming transparent with the purple circle. The rate of a 4* being 3% isn't that bad in my opinion, and there will be occasional Dream Festivals, where the 3% becomes 6%, with special limited cards as well.
The cards in this game are also very well drawn, they have a consistent anime style and are very high quality. In JP, as of August 2022 when I'm writing this, the cards have been slowly implementing a newer style with the anime style, with nice colours and illustrations. The card quality in consistent throughout all 4*s and even the 3* cards are still very nice to use if you don't have a 4*.
Grinding for crystals in this game is not bad once you know where to look, (I'd recommend looking up some youtube videos before you start) and in the early game it is very rewarding, however once you reach Rank 50 and have played most of the songs with full combo's, crystals become much harder to get. It takes much longer to rank up and playing songs you don't like doesn't appeal to many people. Fortunately, in the JP version, the music library is much vaster than the Global version at the time of writing this.
If you want a version which has newer events, more songs and a more updated game, then I would recommend the JP version. Even if you can't speak japanese, there are probably translations out there for the game, and the UI of the game isn't that hard to understand. If you don't want to play the game because of the language, then the Global version is for you. It is currently catching up to JP in events but it has many songs and gives you the same experience. There are many instagram accounts that regularly update and post about Project Sekai on both versions and there are youtube guides out there in case you are confused or need a preview of the game.
I hope this review helped! ♡

Puntos a destacar:
Puedes customizar a tu personaje, comprar bailes, etc.
Puntos a mejorar:
-Nuevas modalidades.

There are 3 types of lives:
1)Solo Live(idk if that's the name.) - This mode is just you playing. You pick the song you want in whatever difficulty you have. You can buy more songs in the music shop along with "another vocals" of characters from that cover in the cover shop.
2)Multilive - It's on the name, you play with other players and pick songs. Most of the time, JP players don't pick songs and just click random because there's a lot of songs. More rewards and event points.
3)Cheerful Live - This is a 5v5. You pick a team when you enter the event page. I think there's like three days where they announce who's in the lead and who wins by the end of the event. You get 3x energy for the first two leads/2x energy if you're losing in both days. I think there's crystals given to the teams but the winning team gets more, don't know how much lol i forgor.
-------
Songs:
I was just a casual listener of Vocaloid producers/utaite covers before playing this game.(played this cuz I heard mafumafu made songs here lmao
![[厲害]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
But, it was strictly the VS version. I didn't like the SEKAI ver because I was used to utaite covers and it felt lacking to me in some way.
Then I got bored after a while of just listening to just VS ver and said to myself 'Hey why not give a 2nd chance to the SEKAI ver??
![[為什麼]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
--------
Characters/Story:
Okay, usually I don't care about characters in gacha rhythm games but this is the first time I actually bothered to read into the characters since I'm usually here just for the gameplay. Whenever I gacha, I just look at characters that interest me and pull on their banner. But that changed when I read their stories---
First unit story I read? Vivid Bad Squad.
---
Before reading, I really liked Akito, his vocals sounded good (and i love his seiyuu
![[色色]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
![[汗顏]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
Finished the story and wanted to look into his character further so I watched some EN translations of his card stories on YT. He became one of my absolute favorite characters after that. Akito focused events made me appreciate him a lot more too
![[色色]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
I'm not gonna type out each of my thoughts on every unit story since I still haven't finished some but instead, here's my top 5 characters (Not including vocaloids!) :
1-2) Akito Shinonome and Ena Shinonome - (Any Shinonome siblings kinnies here? I'm more like Ena but it's a mix between them. 1st time I kin characters too. They be having good vocals and good event songs wtf,,,Fav from Ena focused events is Close to gray and Nomad while Moonlight for Akito)
3) Mizuki Akiyama - (Found them extremely cute, fabulous and relatable whenever I saw their cards and read their area conversations//card stories. Strong vocals, good for a band instrumental, imo. P.s that Usseewa cover game chills and absolutely adore her Bocca Della Varita cover with Mafuyu.
![[耍帥]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
4) Emu Ootori - (Haven't finished WxS story but I absolutely love her energy. Her signature 'Wonderhoy!' and laughs just give me butterflies in my tummy

![[賣萌]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
![[賣萌]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
5) Airi Momose - (Haven't read MMJ story BUT out of all the MMJ characters, she caught my eye. Her color palette's a shade of pink (that might be it Lmao) Anyways, I heard that she's a tsundere which I rarely like but she's an exception. (she's also friends with Ena so um, yeah) Her vocals sound good, patchwork staccato cover is very nice to me, ShizuAiri great duo.
![[微笑]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
A bunch of characters can appeal to certain players so yeah, have fun finding a character that you really like! There's a lot or you could just choose all of them. Some can be interesting to you or just a 'meh' for you. Really recommend looking into characters that interest you.
![[可憐]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
------
Graphics:
My phone is a potato so I don't have 3DMV mode on during gameplay unless it's just the view MV option. But, they're really pretty and nicely animated. Probably rotoscoped which I really love since each dancer has a certain style that fits the characters they're dancing as. (Random but, the dancers from Fragile 3DMV have really great control over their bodies coming from someone who dances for fun!)
Also, since the new update, I think they upgraded the quality of the outfits. Which I think is good cuz I remember seeing how low quality some textures look on outfits. (My cousin who does animation even wondered why their textures were so low quality.) But, that also kind of resulted in other phones not being able to handle proseka anymore so I hope to god, I have a new phone by the time this current phone isn't able to handle the game anymore.
Live shows - I attended some and they're pretty nice. Love the "live" convo but I can't understand since I don't know Japanese but EN saved me from that and the translations on YT.
------
Gacha:
Oh boy....the gacha system here is a 50/50 for me. Either you get the most shittiest pulls or the most luckiest pulls on banners. I remember the time I didn't get any event card from a banner, only four stars from past events
![[大哭]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
![[汗顏]](/cdn/img/transparent.png)
-------
Overall, I highly recommend this game even if you only want to play for the songs/vocaloids. It's really fun and entertaining.
