I have played it for over a year daily with limited experience of the global version.
A gacha with good pull rates but expensive microtransactions. Ftp experience is good and is a must play for any ff fans who like gachas or don't mind them.
Graphic style is interesting as it is between chibi and realistic. It is good for ff fans who have no idea what the sprites of the older games would look like in 3d. The style expresses the characters just enough to make them unique and not confuse characters with others.
Sound is the good and the old ff style menu sound effects are used and there is bgm from all ff games.
Gameplay is turnbased and combines the brv system from dissidia and the classic turnbase mechanics. There are no items and only a limited amount of skills being usable per battle and an infinite amount of generic brv and hp atks to dump and gain brv. There are no consumables in a battle and all abilities are character specific and unique to the character (t
here are currently over 100 charas).
Story follows a dissidia story of traveling from place to place beating things and inserting ff characters here and there. Events for characters show how they feel about coming to the dissidia world.
One of the best app games to play. Especially for Final Fantasy fans. The community is great, highly encourage fans to look at Reddit for r/dissidiaFFOO. Lots of useful info there and also on the website dissdiadb (which has information in English, as well as JP (with English translations).
My favorite mobile game ever. So much fun. I mainly play Global but play JP when I have the free time. I at least manage to log in every day. I wouldn't listen to the folks complaining that it's unbalanced or the gacha is a rip-off because that is false. It's all about resource management. You can't have everything. The game is very generous with materials/in-game currency so if you're good about saving, you'll be in a good spot. I love this game!!
