Lord of the Other World Review(s)
2.8
This game is a town building, and the main difference with other similar games is that you don't have to defend your town vs other players. Your opponent mostly is the monster in open world and dungeons. So no town expanding. Instead, you can focus on development, build a team, and fight other players in siege war and the arena.
I won't say Im a f2p. but I don't spend much ingame beside battle pass and some cheap offer in prestige. No gem brought at all .Still I managed to be one of the top player ingame right now. With full 5 star teams. So yeah, not that p2w.
Game is hard and confusing at first cause there is next to none tutorial. However, once you get a hang of things, building a team and trying heroes combo in the arena and vs npc is quite fun. The battle log is hilarious, especially with chaos involved.
The dev is small, but they do listen and actively try to fix bugs and implement change to the game.
Overall, the game is a good time waster, and have potential.
Also, as at the latest update, we have a story mode.
And now, the dev has decided the honey moon is over, and turn the game into a money grab.

Combine heroes to create the best parties against different opponents. conquer the global map, taking province after province, dominating over the defeated nations.
The characters are well designed. I like the story of the game.

Game rewards have been heavily nerfed to a point where the usage of squads besides of fetching resources outside the city is a waste of time. Exp Books used to feed Units exp have been completely removed even for high-level encounters and now you have to rely on scarce exp gains from the battles themselves. With the minimum requirement of 50 vit each battle which has limited leveling progress quite harshly.
Daily rewards also no longer provide a Invitation ticket used for gacha, the friendship shop also gives less tickets each week (from 5 to 2) and even the rewards for completing the story/adventure mode has been literally decimated into nothingness.
Think twice before you take a look at this game in this state, for people who hoarded resources like me, most of these changes will start to affect us once the storage runs dry.

Finally a City builder which doesn't make you anxious over getting totally destroyed overnight by either people playing way longer than you or whales. This normally would be a paying feature for other more widely known representatives in this type of games.
The game is minimalistic and can be a bit lengthy but as a f2p you can make due without opening the wallet. Sure, Wallet-kun makes everything considerably faster and less grindy but that should be up to everyone and not a mandatory thing after playing for X hours which seems to be the most common style among other games of this genre.
Yes, I don't approve of the amount of things you can buy to literally skip weeks of grind and wait but yet again, that's up to everyone to decide for themselves.
Events are a bit repepitive and sometimes a bit hard for beginners to archieve but free stuff is free.
The game's community consists mainly of English and Chinese speaking players with the unique feature of having a button that lets you translate posts in the chat which is the first time seeing this for me.
