The story follows the anime and manga. You can say ot sticks to the original but then the pieces are too separate and you need a really long time to pass the story. Like, there are 8-10 battles for the pre-UA school life story.
Moreover, the game really ask for a ton of permission before you install the game. For example, permission to check your contact and sms messages... Not really a fan of these requirements.
But if you don't care about the permission stuff, you can definitely go ahead and play the game. I mean, it is a good game if only based on gameplay.
