Pros
You can either create your own character or start with a random one and then if your character dies you pick one of the children.
You have so many options from school activities, college, work
You play as a certain character and when you die you play with one
Special career is a great pack
There are a lot of expansions/pack to choose from and buy. Not all of them worth buying.
A lot of challenges to have you occupied for a while
The next pack will have racing, casino owner, influencer or movie producers
Cons
It would be nice to buy properties and either work on them or manage them
Sadly you can't be a coach for teams after you finish your professional athlete career
Whatever activities you do I school they don't have any impact later in your life
